I used to buy wine online and ship to maryland with no problems
now i went to different websites
and 5 of them said
NO SHIP TO MARYLAND

I do not know of news specific to Maryland, but I have heard that some states have been cracking down on people who do not pay their taxes for alcohol or tobacco purchases online. Those taxes are not sales taxes but are consumption taxes and are allowed. The people doing the selling are supposed to collect them and then turn that money over to the state. I remember reading an article about New York or New Jersey cracking down on sites selling cigarettes for this reason. I would not be suprised to find out that Maryland is doing the same for wine.

The results are in! For the eighth consecutive year, Global Traveler conducted its GT Tested Reader Survey, asking frequent business and luxury travelers to name the best in a variety of travel-related categories. More than 36,000 people responded.
