Day 358 – The wine refrigerator makes its way into the fray. If you look carefully you can note that there’s absolutely no way that the door will open past the lip on the cabinet edge. It took some fancy cutting to resolve that issue.

ASI Survey: Companies Spending 20% More On Employee Gifts 0

Posted on December 25, 2011 by wine

Trevose, PA (PRWEB) December 20, 2011

Results of the 2011 corporate gift-giving survey by the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) show office Santas are spending an average $ 42.52 on their employee elves, up 19.6% from 2010.

The annual ASI corporate gift-giving survey also shows gift cards and cash remain the most popular employee gifts for the second year. But over six out of 10 respondents plan to spend about the same amount this holiday season as last on corporate gifts for both employees and prospects or clients, suggesting increased spending is not universal.

Nearly a quarter of respondents say giving gifts to clients and prospects results in sales and leads, but that goodwill is the greatest reward.

At this special time of year, its heartening to see that the Grinch is in short supply when it comes to corporate gift-giving, said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. No matter what the economic forecast, rewarding employees for their hard work and thanking clients for placing orders remains a wonderful way to spread a little cheer.

Here’s some crap on my desk. My room is a complete mess right now. Check the tags for info.

——

I just watched Greenberg and am pretty sure it put me in a bigger funk than normal. I have, for the most part, been okay lately.

What I miss is having a real connection with someone I care about. Mind you, I love my friends, but hanging out with them isn’t the same as the bond I’m looking for. Sometimes I feel like I need to retell the last four months of my life in order to feel somewhat satisfied.

I’m fortunate enough to have a solid group of friends who can keep me entertained most of the time! I love having them over for board games (not your average games… I’m talking about Settlers of Catan, Ascension, Ticket to Ride…), going out to dance, and just having their company during a movie.

On a separate note, I know it may not seem like much to most, but since NYE, I’ve had two glasses of wine (which were free) and no other booze. I decided I spent way too much money on alcohol. "Dance more. Drink less." It’s really odd to be completely sober on the dance floor, but I’ve become more okay with my lame dance moves. I don’t need no dance juice to help me :) I’m fortunate enough to have a dance partner who doesn’t drink alcohol either! I never liked being the only sober person. It also helps that I haven’t seen my Irish and Serbian friends since mid Decemberish. Many three day drinkfests have occurred since I’ve met them. Although it is fun, my liver is thanking me. And I like my liver.

Sheraton Phoenix Rising on Meeting Planner Short-lists with Virtual Visit 0

Posted on November 04, 2011 by wine

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 02, 2011

Now meeting planners can take a Virtual Visit of Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and its over 80,000 square feet of flexible, state-of-the-art meeting space all without leaving their office.

Planners can quickly assess if the hotels space is the right fit for their event by viewing high quality images, room capacities, amenities, event flow and more during a virtual site inspection that takes just minutes instead of hours.

“We were looking for an effective new way to present our property and our first priority was to make a tough job easier for meeting planners,” said Todd Ryan, Director of Sales & Marketing, Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel. “Virtual Visit helps us to provide excellent service to planners long before they arrive at our hotel.”

For planners choosing Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, the Virtual Visit then becomes a useful resource for planning and promoting their event. Hotel staff can help planners create custom tours of the property so attendees and presenters can orient themselves before they arrive, tour amenities and get a feel for the event, which leads to increased registration.

Meeting planners have taken notice, with increasing numbers booking site inspections and adding Phoenixs premier convention hotel to their short-list of candidate properties. According to Heidi Oligmueller, lawyer and meeting planner for Apogee Dental, the Virtual Visit tour provided great insight for what she could expect from Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel to ensure its guestrooms and meeting spaces would comfortably accommodate the companys event.
